PrefPass partner site
The site you just came from has partnered with PrefPass to let you use the IDs you already have to join. No more passwords to remember!
How it works
Registering at a PrefPass-enabled site is simple. When you click on the submit button, you’ll see a PrefPass window appear. From there, there’s just three steps:
- Click on a logo: this will send you to your ID provider of choice.
- Log in: if you’re already signed in to your ID provider you’ll skip this step.
- Give permission: each ID provider is different, but the idea is you’ll say it’s OK to connect to PrefPass.
That’s it! You’ll then be sent back to the site, signed up and good to go.
Will anyone see my password?
No! When you pop over to your ID provider of choice, look at the address bar on your browser. You can see that you’re actually at Yahoo!, or AOL, or Facebook. Nobody but them will ever see your password.
What happens when I log back in?
When you go back to a PrefPass-enabled site to log in, you’re somebody special. You don’t need to remember a password! Just leave the password field blank and go. You’ll just log right in, or you may have to confirm to your ID provider that it’s OK to connect to PrefPass. Either way, your life just got a whole lot easier.
